Privacy

Backpacks is built so your library never needs to leave your iPhone. No account. No analytics. No advertising.

What stays on your device

Your saved links, screenshots, the text read from screenshots, and your search index are stored only on your iPhone, in the app and its share extension. Nothing is uploaded to a Backpacks server.

What we do not collect

There is no account system, no analytics SDK, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not sell data.

Network requests from your phone

When you save a link, the app contacts that site from your phone to get its title and preview image. For YouTube, Instagram, and X links it asks those services for the same public details. To show a site icon, the app may send only the site’s domain name to a favicon service. No account or device identifier is sent. Text in screenshots is read on your device with Apple’s Vision framework and is not sent anywhere.

Export and deletion

You can export your library as a zip file from Settings. Deleting the app removes its data from your phone.
